UK Pub Goers Staying Home for Online Poker
20th of February 2014
Thanks to a recent survey conducted of interested parties in the United Kingdom, social scientists may have a heads up to a potential lack of social activity in Britain’s future; less people going to the pub. While trips to the pub are often thought to be a standard part of British social life, the survey suggests that the pendulum is starting to swing the other way, with some folks preferring staying at home, logging on to the Internet, and playing online poker.
Nearly 20 percent of those surveyed said they liked the idea of poker more than a pint with friends at their local watering hole. In other news a couple announced that they met and fell in love playing online poker and are set to be married in March, so this data may not be the social death knell it could be.
