North Dakota Poker Battle May Continue
28th of November 2013
25,688. No, that’s not the number of dollars won in a recent poker tournament, but it could be the magic number as far as poker in North Dakota is concerned. That is the number of North Dakota voters needed to sign a petition in order to get an amendment to the state’s constitution on the ballot, and that has to happen before North Dakota State Representative Jim Kasper will get his wish when it comes to poker in his state. Earlier this year Kasper has some success when legislation that would allow online poker to operate and be regulated in North Dakota was passed in the House, but he was stymied in the Senate when the overwhelming majority voted no.
Kasper has played it cool when speaking with the press regarding any intentions to introduce more legislation on the subject. He has spoke with industry officials however, in order to secure the kind of funds he would need to launch a full scale effort.
